Cayetano to seek reelection

MANILA, Philippines - Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, her running mate Ricardo Cruz and their candidates for the city council, who are running under the Nacionalista Party (NP)  filed their COCs yesterday afternoon.

Also running under the NP are congressional candidates Gig Valenzuela de Mesa for the first district and Lino Cayetano, the mayor’s brother-in-law, for the second district.

Ma. Rebecca Tinga, youngest daughter of retired Supreme Court associate justice Dante Tinga, will challenge Cayetano’s reelection bid.

Tinga has filed her certificate of candidacy under the Kilusang Diwa ng Taguig party last Monday.

Meanwhile, Mandaluyong City Vice Mayor Danny de Guzman will challenge Mayor Benjamin Abalos in next year’s elections.

In Quezon City, actor-comedian Anjo Yllana and musician Heber Bartolome filed their COCs for councilor in the newly created fifth and sixth districts, respectively. – Pete Laude, Jose Rodel Clapano, Perseus Echeminada, Non Alquitran, Janvic Mateo, Mike Frialde
