Social worker killed in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines -  A volunteer social worker was killed by two alleged robbers in Navotas City at past midnight yesterday.

Police Officer 2 Allan Bangayan said Rosavilla Dipon, 53, a volunteer social worker of Barangay North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), died of stab wounds in the body on the way to the Tondo Medical Center.

Barangay NBBS watchmen Victor Miranda and Michael Obor found the bloodied victim lying on the pavement along Alumahan street at around 12:30 a.m. A witness told them he saw Badiong Ocampo and an alias Aga attack Dipon and take her belongings.

Watchman Arturo Alvares and his team caught Aga and confiscated Dipon’s cell phone and a knife. Ocampo, who escaped with Dipon’s bag, is the subject of a police manhunt, officials said.
