2 'kotong' cops axed

- Aie Balagtas See - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Two policemen allegedly receiving “grease money” from illegal vendors in Baclaran, Parañaque City have been relieved from their posts.

Aside from extortion, Police Officers 2 Adrian Valencia and Elan Sagario of the Parañaque police Precinct 1 were sacked for failing to curb the proliferation of illegal vendors near the Baclaran Church.

“I don’t usually remove my men from their posts but I want to send a message that erring policemen have no place in the police force,” city police chief Superintendent Billy Beltran said.

Beltran ordered policemen assigned in Baclaran to ensure that no vendors will be allowed to ply their trade along Redemptorist Road.
