MANILA, Philippines – Police are hunting down two men who killed a laborer and wounded two others during a failed robbery attempt in Navotas City Sunday night.

JayR Camira, 22, a resident of Barangay North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the chest.

Police Officer 2 Exequiel Sangco said Camira was walking along Magdaragat street in Barangay NBBS with neighbors Josefina Malati, 57; and Geronimo Mecio, 44, a barangay watchman, when two men approached them at around 9 p.m.

Camira put up a fight, prompting one of the robbers to shoot him in the chest. Mecio and Malati were also shot when they tried to help Camira.

Witnesses identified the two men as “Boknoy” and “Owen,” robbers who allegedly operate in Navotas and Tondo, Manila.
