Robredo award a reason to perform better, Caloocan exec says

- Pete Laude - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A good governance award given by the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo serves as a motivation for Caloocan City officials to improve their performance and be more transparent in their transactions, Mayor Enrico Echiverri said yesterday.

He said the city government “will always cherish” the Seal of Good Housekeeping it received from Robredo along with Marikina, Navotas and Makati City last year.

Echiverri said Caloocan was cited for its development planning, budgeting, revenue mobilization, financial management and budget, procurement, and resource mobilization.

The award comes with financial assistance, which the city government used in part to purchase medical equipment for the President Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Medical Center, emergency response facilities and the construction of a lying-in clinic.
