2 guards questioned on 7-11 robbery

MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Police District (MPD) yesterday invited for questioning two security guards in connection with Sunday’s heist at a 7-11 store in Malate, Manila.

SPO1 Alonzo Layugan said Rolando Jose Rey, 32, and Randy Malanum, 38, were questioned after a concerned citizen called up the MPD, saying they “closely resemble” the men in the video grab from a CCTV footage that came out on The STAR Monday where three suspects were shown robbing the convenience store.

Police believe that the suspects who robbed 7-11 Leveriza branch were the same men who attacked the F.B. Harrison branch and killed Robert Armstrong, 45, manager of an English language-testing center.
