Manila, Philippines - Carjackers stole an Asian utility vehicle and a sport utility vehicle in two separate incidents in Quezon City over the weekend.
Police said a blue Toyota Revo (XEY-106) owned by Edgardo Martinez and Maricar Yacat’s black Toyota Fortuner (TQA-679) might have been taken by the same group of armed men.
Senior Inspector Rogelio Diaz, chief investigator of the Quezon City Police District’s Anti-Carnapping Unit, noted that in both instances, three armed men were involved and their modus operandi are similar.
Diaz hopes the victims would be able to identify the suspects once the rogues’ galleries are presented to them.
The Revo was taken at past 5 p.m. on Saturday in Barangay Bagong Pag-Asa. At that time, the vehicle was only manned by family driver Mark Anthony Ellazar.
After being being hogtied and held inside the vehicle, the driver was dropped off in Greenwoods Subdivision in Taytay, Rizal at around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.
The Fortuner was taken at around 10 a.m. in front of a supermarket located along E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard in Barangay Don Manuel. It was occupied at that time by Robert Juan and Aileen Pandez.
Juan and Pandez said the three armed men boarded the vehicle and told them to occupy the back seat.
The two victims were dropped off by the carjackers at the corner of EDSA and Oliveros street.
