MANILA, Philippines - A credit cooperative in Malabon City lost around P85,000 in cash and office equipment to three robbers Friday.
Caritas Salve Credit Cooperative (CSCC) branch manager Jovita de la Cruz, 40, told police three men wearing shirts with Caritas Salve markings entered their office at the second floor of the Domingo building in Barangay Tañong at around 12:30 p.m.
The men, armed with handguns, told De la Cruz and six other employees to lie face down on the floor. The robbers hogtied the employees using packaging tape and took their cell phones, wallets, a digital camera and a laptop as well as P33,000 in collections.
The robbers locked the office door from the outside and walked out of the building, police said.
Flor Flores, who was about to remit her collection to the cooperative, heard someone asking for help from inside the office. She called the police.
At the police station, the victims pointed to a file photo of alleged robber Eduardo Elizalde, saying he was one of the men who robbed them.
