3 more bodies found in QC, Manila

MANILA, Philippines - The bodies of two men believed to be victims of summary execution were found along a sidewalk in Quezon City yesterday morning.

The discovery of the bodies brought to eight the number of “salvaged” victims discovered in the city in less than three weeks. All victims bore signs of strangulation.

PO2 Alvin Quisumbing said they have yet to identify the two latest victims whose bodies were found at 6 a.m. in Barangay Salvacion, La loma.

Quisumbing said both victims had ligature marks around their necks. The victims were described in their early 40s, medium built, and fair skinned.

In Manila, a dead man was found stuffed in a sack at the corner of Tayuman and Juan Luna street at 3:30 a.m. yesterday.

Police identified the fatality as Erbin Liwanag, 22, jobless, and resident of 2057 Dagupan Extension in Tondo.

Investigators said Liwanag could be summarily executed based on the strangulation marks on his neck.
