MPD asks help to catch alleged hitmen
Manila, Philippines - The Manila Police District (MPD) is asking for help after operatives sent to Oras, Eastern Samar Friday to arrest two brothers suspected of killing an activist in Tondo last month and a Manila school official earlier this year came back empty-handed, an official said yesterday.
The four-man team tracked Raffy Tejas to his hometown in Barangay Buntas, but the fugitive fled to the mountains. His brother, Benjamin, remains at large, according to MPD Station 1 commander Alexander Navarette.
He said the brothers are accused of killing activist Marilou Valle in Tondo on July 22 and suspected of being involved in the murder of Noel Cabrera, vice president of the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology in Sta. Mesa in May.
Navarette said those who have information on the whereabouts of the Tejas brothers may contact the MPD Police Station 1 through landlines 253-68-08 or 252-3093 or send a text message to 0929-3346925.
