Taiwanese caught with shabu, marijuana at NAIA

- Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A Taiwanese man about to leave for Taipei was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Friday night after he was found to be carrying six plastic sachets of shabu and marijuana.

Yao Wei Tang, 43, refused to be frisked at the final check before boarding his flight, according to Superintendent Sandro Tapalla and NAIA Terminal 3 airport police head Capt. Froilan Sanchez.

Tapalla and Sanchez told The STAR that Yao put a plastic sachet in his mouth and threw another to the floor, but an officer manning the X-ray scanner picked it up and gave it to authorities.

Police officers checked the two sachets and found that they contained shabu. They also found four sachets of dried marijuana leaves on Yao’s person.
