MANILA, Philippines - A saleslady filed rape and robbery charges against five men who allegedly broke into her house in BF Homes, Parañaque City Monday after one of them tried to rape her while she was sleeping.
The woman told police she was asleep beside her boyfriend, a security guard, when she felt a man fondling her. She ignored it, thinking it was her boyfriend, until he tried to have sex with her.
When she opened her eyes, she said she found Cyrel Helida on top of her. She screamed, waking up her boyfriend as Helida fled.
The couple reported the incident to police officers, who arrested Helida and his four accomplices in a follow-up operation. Police officers said they recovered P1,400 and a cell phone worth P2,500 from Helida; Jay Noe, 20; Jomarie Limorenas, 18; Jomar Caligudgud, 18; and Nilo Vista.
Investigators said the five men reportedly only intended to rob the victims until Helida saw the woman clad in her underwear and a nightshirt.
