MANILA, Philippines - The husband of a Pasay City barangay chairwoman was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly killing a resident and wounding a vendor when he went on a shooting spree.
Vendor Rexford Fallore said he was pushing his cart full of young coconuts along Edang street when Lemuel Castillo, the husband of Barangay 149 chair Rosalyn Castillo, pistol-whipped him and shot at him. The bullet grazed the right side of his head.
Witnesses said the gunshot attracted the attention of Moises Romero, who went out of his house. Castillo allegedly shot Romero, who was hit in the abdomen and declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
Castillo was arrested by police officers, who seized his .45 caliber pistol.
