Maynilad water supply back to normal

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Maynilad Water Services Inc.’s water supply returned to normal yesterday after reducing its production Thursday due to increased turbidity levels at the Angat Dam.

The West Zone water concessionaire said these covered the following service areas: Quirino-Roosevelt,  Fairview-Commonwealth, as well as portions of Caloocan,  Malabon, Navotas, Manila, Makati, Pasay and Parañaque.

“However, our customers should expect water discoloration and some sediments in their water supply because of the continuing high turbidity level of our raw water from Angat Dam. To help reduce the sediments, our customers may put a clean cloth over their faucets or let the water stand in a container for a few hours before using the water,” Maynilad said.

Maynilad assured customers “that our water remains safe for domestic use, as it meets the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water of the Department of Health.”

Maynilad said that as of Wednesday morning, the turbidity level of the water at the Angat Dam reached 1,200 Nephelometric Turbidity Units. The normal turbidity level of water at the Angat Dam during the rainy season is 100 NTU.
