Man shot during drinking session

MANILA, Philippines - A man was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle while he was drinking with friends in Barangay 146, Caloocan City Wednesday night.

Jeff Montealegre, 23, was with friends Jaworski Catalino, 21; Daniel Toledo, 19; John Paul Umali, 19; and Raymond Castro, 25, at the corner of Tirona and Panday Pira streets when he was shot in the head and body at around 8 p.m. Investigators found two deformed slugs and a .38 caliber cartridge at the scene.

Montealegre was taken to the MCU Hospital on EDSA but was declared dead on arrival. His unidentified attackers are at large. Police said they have yet to establish the motive for the killing.
