Taxman's AUV carjacked in front of BIR office
MANILA, Philippines - Carjackers made off with a Bureau of Internal Revenue employee’s Asian utility vehicle in front of the BIR’s district office in Quezon City yesterday morning.
Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo Jr., commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 10, said Jessie Narvaez, 43, was at work in the BIR district office at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Scout Santiago street when the carjacking occurred at around 9 a.m.
His driver, Nestor Alcantara, had cleaned the red Mitsubishi Adventure (TKQ-376) and was resting in the car, which was parked outside the BIR compound, when four men – two of them armed with .45 caliber handguns – appeared.
At gunpoint, the men forced Alcantara to go to the rear of the vehicle. They brought him from Fairview and dumped him along the North Luzon Expressway in Marilao, Bulacan.
