MANILA, Philippines - An uncle of Malabon Rep. Jaye Lacson-Noel was found hanging in his room Thursday morning.
Relatives said businessman Benjamin Lacson, 62, had gone for a medical checkup the day before he committed suicide. Police said the family is still waiting for the results of the checkup.
Lacson’s widow, Lani, said she does not know why her husband killed himself.
Police said some relatives said the victim, known to engage in money-lending, had some difficulty collecting a large sum from clients and this could have been the reason he turned on himself.
