Ex-US Navy man slain in Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines - A retired United States Navy man was killed in his house in BF Homes, Parañaque before dawn yesterday.

Initial police reports said Miguel Armat was with his wife when unidentified men allegedly robbed and killed him.  He was rushed to the Parañaque Medical Center at about 5:30 a.m. but was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to other reports, Armat was killed when he reportedly tried to fight off the robbers.

Investigators are reviewing footage taken by closed-circuit television cameras in Armat’s house.
