Couple shot dead in Pasig ambush
MANILA, Philippines - A businessman and his wife were shot dead in an ambush at the parking lot of a restaurant where they intended to have lunch in Pasig City yesterday.
Bienvenido Tan was parking his Toyota Innova (ZNT-210) in front of the Barrio Fiesta restaurant along Marcos Highway in Barangay De la Paz when two men on a motorcycle approached the vehicle at around 11:30 a.m.

Senior Police Officer 3 Geminir Tingne, of the Eastern Police District (EPD) criminal investigation unit, the Tan couple own the Arrow Aluminum Wares store in Barangay Bagong Ilog.
EPD director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel ordered a deeper investigation into the killings since the couple were reportedly facing estafa and bouncing checks cases in various courts.
The couple also allegedly dismissed at least six of their employees for various offenses two years ago.
SPO1 Randy Aurelio said the Tan couple were regular customers of the restaurant and are known to the waiters and other employees.
