Shabu-making chemicals burned in Valenzuela

MANILA, Philippines - Some P5.7 million worth of chemicals and laboratory equipment used in manufacturing shabu were destroyed in Valenzuela City yesterday.

Undersecretary Jose Gutierrez Jr., Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency director general, led the burning of 2,873 liters of liquid chemicals and 1,213 kilos of solid chemicals at the Green Planet Management Inc. treatment facility in Barangay Punturin.

Gutierrez said the chemicals and equipment were seized during recent raids on shabu laboratories in Malabon, Muntinlupa, and Taguig. – Pete Laude, Jerry Botial
