8,700 Caloocan residents finish livelihood training

MANILA, Philippines - The Caloocan City government yesterday urged unemployed residents to take advantage of the local government-sponsored skills training program after a total of 8,767 trainees who underwent the training finished their respective courses recently.

Mayor Enrico Echiverri said records from the city’s Manpower Training Center (MTC) showed that 4,169 graduates finished the food processing and food demo course; 1,075 trained in how to produce herbal products; 2,436 in soap-making; 428 candle-making; and 659 in making novelty items.

Echiverri said last year, the Caloocan City MTC provided livelihood training to a total of 1,133 residents, most of whom finished an information technology course.

He also urged Councilor Ricojudge Echiverri, Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas president, to continue coordinating with the local barangay leaders about the city government-sponsored skills training program.
