Bulacan barangay chief's killer has P.25-M bounty
Manila, Philippines - The prime suspect in the murder of a Bulacan barangay chairman in front of a cockpit in Valenzuela City last Sunday has a reward for his capture for another murder two months ago, police said yesterday.
Senior Police Officer 4 Jesus Sagisi said Danilo Lusung, tagged in the killing of Barangay Libtong, Meycauayan chairman Lauro Bartolo, has a P250,000 reward for his arrest in the April 22 murder of Ronald Marinas.
Lusung allegedly killed Marinas after his motorcycle collided with Marinas’ car along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Marulas. The Valenzuela City government offered the bounty to help police speed up the resolution of the case.
According to Superintendent Hector Samar, Meycauayan City police chief, Bartolo’s wife identified Lusung – through police photos of suspected criminals – as the man who bought a softdrink from her store in Barangay Libtong an hour before her husband was gunned down.
Bartolo’s son, Larry, also identified Lusung as one of two men on a motorcycle who called out to his father before shooting at him.
Samar said Lusung is allegedly hired killer and is the subject of at least three arrest warrants for murder, frustrated murder and rape.
