Alleged pusher slain for not remitting sales

- Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo -

MANILA, Philippines - A man suspected of being drug pusher was shot dead in Tondo, Manila Sunday night after he allegedly tried to pressure his supplier into giving him more shabu even if he had not remitted the proceeds of their previous transactions.

Edgardo Pinlac, 43, died on the spot while his 16-year-old son and a neighbor, Augustina Arcilla, 41, were wounded in the attack. The boy and Arcilla are still under observation at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital, police said yesterday.

Chief Inspector Joey Ocampo, Manila Police District (MPD) homicide division chief, told The STAR that Pinlac is a known pusher in the area but was already based in Cavite City.

Ocampo said Pinlac was seen arguing with three men at the corner of Bartolome and Asuncion streets at around 8:40 p.m.

Ocampo said one of the three men involved in the shooting was a cousin of the victims. The supplier and his companions remain at large.
