MANILA, Philippines - An American wanted in the United States for drug trafficking was deported by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) after overstaying in the country for two years.
Alexander Theodore Bean, 25, left the Philippines on May 24 on board a Philippine Airlines flight to Los Angeles, California, BI Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. said in a statement.
Bean was with his Filipina partner when he was arrested in Cabangan, Zambales by operatives of BI’s Fugitive Search Unit four days before he was deported.
David said the US embassy sought Bean’s arrest after a district court in Montana issued a warrant for conspiracy “to distribute heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.”
BI acting intelligence chief Ma. Antonette Mangrobang said Bean’s passport has been revoked by the US state department. She said there is no record that Bean applied for an extension of his stay since he arrived on Sept. 10, 2010 as a tourist.
