Tailor stabbed dead in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - Three men ambushed and killed a tailor and wounded his companion in Caloocan City at past midnight yesterday.

The attack happened at around 12:30 a.m. as Joenel Banas, 44, and Ronnie San Jose, 31, were walking along Gumamela street in Barangay 161. Three men, all wearing bonnets, stabbed Banas several times in the abdomen and San Jose four times in the neck and back.

Banas died on the spot while San Jose managed to run and call for help.

San Jose’s partner told police she suspects that her former lover may be behind the attack.
