- Perseus Echeminada -

Manila, Philippines - Four teenagers were killed when the car they were riding smashed into a concrete power post in Ayala Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City before dawn yesterday.

ABS-CBN identified the four teenagers as Bruce Garcia, 14; Thomas Eric Nguyen, 16; Joshua Syyap, 15; and Timothy Syyap, 18.

According to a report that reached the barangay hall, the teenagers were going through Acacia Avenue in a Hyundai Elantra at high speed when the driver lost control and hit an electric post.

“The car was a total wreck. It was divided in two,” a resident, who declined to be named, told The STAR. The victims were reportedly on their way home at around 4 a.m. when the accident occurred.

The impact of the crash threw the victims from the car. Three were declared dead on arrival at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center, and one died while being treated at the hospital.

Barangay officials said the Ayala Alabang homeowners’ association is coordinating with police in the investigation of the incident.
