MANILA, Philippines - Pasay police officers are trying to track down three women who were allegedly responsible for the death of a woman on whom they performed an abortion Wednesday, an investigator said yesterday.
“We are still trying to establish the identity of the suspects,” Police Officer 3 Dennis Desalisa said.
He said an elderly woman identified as “Dr. Sylvia” and two “assistants” performed an abortion on Jay Vanessa Yamson, 27, at Room 817 of the Park View Mansion along Taft Avenue in Pasay City.
Yamson’s mother said her daughter asked her to accompany her to a medical checkup at the condominium building. She was asked to wait in the receiving area until the checkup was done, but when her daughter shouted, she rushed into the room and found Yamson bleeding.
She asked the “doctors” to bring her daughter to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, but Yamson died upon arrival. Desalisa said they are still waiting for Yamson’s mother to give her statement to the police so that necessary charges will be filed against the abortionists.
He said Yamson lived with a partner in Binondo, Manila and already had two children before the abortion.
