BI bars entry of 2 Taiwanese men

- Rudy Santos -

Manila, Philippines -  The Bureau of Immigration (BI) had two Taiwanese men suspected of being members of a drug syndicate return to their country after they arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at noon yesterday.

Wa Tao Hsien, 30; and Lin Yu Hsiang, 20, boarded a return flight of Eva Air when immigration officers found out “they don’t have enough money, and the worst is they don’t know where they will stay. They said someone would pick them up upon arrival,” Immigration supervisor Mario de Vega said.

De Vega and Travel Control and Enforcement Unit officer Anthony Lopez said that since April, they have intercepted around 80 Taiwanese nationals they suspect of being drug gang members.
