Landlord shot dead in Pasig

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines -  A 39-year-old landlord died at a hospital after an unidentified gunman shot him in the head in Pasig City yesterday.

A worker, Dennis Saenisit, said he was doing some repairs at an apartment owned by June Amores on Flores street in Barangay Bagong Ilog when he heard the sound of a gunshot at around 9:45 a.m. and saw the gunman walk away after approaching Amores from behind and shooting him.

The witness described the gunman as wearing a black polo shirt and a brown bull cap marked Cranston Trucking Co., which the police recovered a few meters away from the crime scene.

Amores was rushed to the Rizal Medical Center.

Eastern Police District (EPD) crime scene investigators recovered a .45 caliber shell at the scene.

EPD director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel ordered the local police to conduct a background investigation on Amores to determine the motive behind the killing.
