AFP eyes partnership with Makati Med

- Alexis Romero -

MANILA, Philippines - The military is planning to work with the Makati Medical Center Foundation to improve the services of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center (AFPMC) and to address the concerns raised by some of its patients.

AFP chief Gen. Jessie Dellosa said the foundation could share administrative and management practices that the military hospital can adapt to enhance its services. He said the AFP is also open to other private hospitals that are willing to provide similar assistance.

Insiders welcomed Dellosa’s move, saying there are practices in the AFPMC that need to be curbed. They claimed that one supplier seems to have a monopoly when it comes to the awarding of bids and contracts, while a senior military officer and others have complained about the alleged rudeness of the hospital’s employees.

Dellosa confirmed that there are some issues that need to be addressed in the military hospital. He declined to identify the persons involved in these issues, saying an investigation is still ongoing.
