Body dumped in Malabon fishpond

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a man believed to be a victim of summary execution was found floating in a fishpond in Barangay Dampalit, Malabon City yesterday.

Senior Inspector Gregorio Catacutan said the body was found at around 5 a.m. in a fishpond in Merville Subdivision. Witnesses said they noticed a white van cruising the area and heard the sound of a gunshot.

The victim had a gunshot wound in the head, and he was gagged with a towel and bound with electrical cord, Catacutan said. 

Witnesses described the victim as around 25 to 30 years old and at least 5’5” tall, and bore a Sputnik tattoo on his left leg. He was clad in black shorts and a pink polo shirt.
