PUP dean loses P1.3 M to maid

MANILA, Philippines - A dean from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) went to the police yesterday after her maid allegedly stole P1.3 million worth of money and jewelry.
Police said Cecilia Mercado, 63, PUP’s accountancy dean, said she found her cabinet had been ransacked and her money and jewelry missing.
She identified her maid as Arlyn Mangandi, 18, a native of Malasiqui, Pangasinan. Mangandi is now at large.
