Ex-PCGG commissioner Abcede passes away

MANILA, Philippines - Former Presidential Commission on Good Governance (PCGG) commissioner Ricardo Abcede died of heart failure Thursday, according to a report by GMA News.

Michael Anthony Abcede confirmed reports of his father’s death. Abcede’s remains are at the Loyola Memorial Chapel in Guadalupe, Makati City.

Abcede, who passed the Bar in 1973, was reported to have suffered from a stroke last year.

He served as the PCGG‘s commissioner for assets and management, replacing Ruben Carranza Jr.

Abcede was also the national chairman and spokesman for the Filipino Lawyers for Good Governance and the PCGG’s representative in the inter-agency Privatization Council chaired by former finance secretary Margarito Teves.
