Road repairs to continue during Lenten break

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will continue with its road repairs during the Holy Week.

DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said it would be a working holiday for personnel involved in repair works starting at 12 a.m. tomorrow up to 12 p.m. of April 9.

Singson said they would be taking advantage of the exodus of people from Metro Manila and the light flow of traffic to get more jobs done.

The DPWH said there would be road repairs along Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to 2nd street in Port Area, Manila; Aurora Boulevard (southbound); Pasay City, from EDSA to Aurora Bridge; South Superhighway (southbound) from Zobel Roxas street to Quirino Avenue; and along Osmeña Bridge 2 from San Andres street to Zobel Roxas street in Manila.

Repair works were also scheduled along Daang Maharlika, Muntinlupa City; South Superhighway (northbound) from Magallanes to Zobel Roxas; Pasong Tamo Avenue between Makati diversion channel and EDSA (center lane); and A.H. Lacson street, Sampaloc, Manila from Rotonda to Ma. Clara.

The DPWH said there would also be road repairs along España Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila from Corola to Welcome Rotonda; Nagtahan flyover service road, from R. Magsaysay Boulevard to Ruiloba street;  Magsaysay Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila, from Sociego to Rotonda; and Aurora Boulevard (eastbound) from F. Castillo street to J.P. Rizal (outer lane).

EDSA, Quezon City (northbound) going Cubao Area, between Liberty and Main Avenue; Boni Serrano Avenue between 10th to 7th Avenue; and EDSA (northbound and southbound) in Mandaluyong City will also be repaired.
