2 Caloocan elementary schools burglarized
MANILA, Philippines - Burglars broke into the Bagong Silang Elementary School (BSES) and Sto. Niño Elementary School (SNES) in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City yesterday.
BSES property custodian Tolentino Esponillo said the school’s slide projector, which was kept in the faculty room, was missing. He said the room was in disarray and some documents were scattered around.
SNES teacher Francisco Hilloma said tables and cabinets in the school’s records and guidance section were ransacked, and the room’s fixtures – including a stainless steel faucet and window jalousies – were missing.
Police said the burglars could have detached overhead exhaust fans and entered through the opening. Police believe the culprits could have been a group of minors or minors with adults orchestrating the robbery.
Sources said this was not the first time the schools were robbed.
