Ex-con shot dead in Muntinlupa

MANILA, Philippines - A man who served time for robbery and homicide was shot dead in Muntinlupa City on Saturday morning.

Ruel Archua, 51, was shot in the head at about 7 a.m. in front of a parlor at South Gold Market Katihan in Poblacion. His two killers fled on a motorcycle.

Chief Inspector Giovanni Martinez said Archua is an alleged member of the disbanded syndicate Kuratong Baleleng. The motive for his murder is still under investigation, he said.

Archua started serving his sentence in the New Bilibid Prison in 1994 and was granted parole in 2009. His remains were brought to Eastern Funeral Homes.
