DPWH to close Osmeña Highway bridge for repairs
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will close the southbound part of a bridge along Osmeña Highway in Paco, Manila for repairs beginning today until April 16.
In a statement, DPWH-National Capital Region director Reynaldo Tagudando said the project involves the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge superstructure, including the railings and guardrail.
The DPWH has already coordinated with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority since the agency will totally close to vehicular traffic the highway’s southbound lane from Quirino Avenue to San Andres street.
The northbound part of the bridge will be converted into a two-way road.
The DPWH advised motorists headed north to take EDSA, Gil Puyat Avenue, Zobel Roxas Avenue or San Andres street. Those going south can go to Quirino Avenue then turn left on Taft Avenue, Leon Guinto street or Roxas Boulevard.
