Woman shot dead in Malate

MANILA, Philippines - A housewife was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in Malate, Manila Monday night.

Police Officer 3 Bernardo Cayabyab said Gloria Akim, 28, was buying laundry soap at a store along Quirino Avenue at around 11:20 p.m. when two men approached her from behind and shot her twice in the head.

She was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Maynila. Her killers fled on foot toward Leveriza street and boarded a motorcycle parked at a basketball court.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the shooting.
