MANILA, Philippines - Twenty-nine people were hurt, with two in critical condition, when a bus they were riding fell on its side while going through the Alabang viaduct in Muntinlupa City on a rainy yesterday afternoon.

Skyway spokesman Ed Nepomuceno said a JAC Liner bus (PYU-314) was heading to South Luzon Expressway when it hit the bridge’s right railing and fell on its left side at past 5 p.m.

“Two of the passengers were ejected out of the bus because of the impact. They are now in the Asian Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC),” he said.

The 27 other victims are being treated at the AHMC and Ospital ng Muntinlupa.

“It’s not clear what caused it, but the road was also slippery at that time,” Nepomuceno said.

The southbound portion of the Alabang viaduct was closed until the bus was towed.
