500 kilos of frozen meat seized in Marikina

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines – At least 500 kilos of frozen meat were seized during a raid on a public market in Marikina City yesterday.

National Meat Inspection Service team leader Rolando Marquez said the meat, estimated to be worth P50,000, was seized for violation of the proper handling and distribution of meat products provision in Department of Agriculture’s Administrative Order 22.

The order stated that frozen meat products sold in public markets should be kept in a freezer or chiller to prevent bacteria infection.
