Intruder stabs ma, tries to rape daughter

MANILA, Philippines - A man was arrested before dawn Friday when he broke into a house in Quezon City, tried to molest a 13-year-old girl then stabbed the girl and her mother when they put up a fight.

In a report, Police Officer 2 Benjie Butac said the girl and her mother were sleeping when, at around 3 a.m. Friday, the girl woke up because she felt the suspect, Randy Herrera, 30, touching her.

The girl started shouting for help, waking her mother, who tried to help her daughter. Herrera reportedly stabbed the two victims.

Neighbors, awakened by the commotion, rushed to the victims’ house and caught the suspect.
