Navotas fish port next location for 'Bourne' shoot
MANILA, Philippines - Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC) authorities yesterday assured fish traders that business will be uninterrupted despite the scheduled four-day shooting of the Hollywood movie “Bourne Legacy” at the facitlity.
Arsilo Catipay, NFPC Police and Security Division chief, said all business transactions in the facility are expected to flow smoothly during the shoot. He said the scenes in the Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz movie will be shot during the day, when regular trading activity in the fish port is finished.
“Some portions will be closed but this won’t affect our operation. Business is expected to be closed before daybreak so our fish traders have nothing to worry about possible losses. If they want, they can stay to watch the shooting but they have to behave when they see Jeremy and Rachel,” Catipay said.
Catipay said he was told by production officials that cameras will roll at the site on Jan. 24 and 25 and then on Feb. 3 and 4. He added that the producers will pay the fish port management P30,000 for the use of fishing boats sent off to Palawan.
He said they are glad the movie production chose the Navotas Fish Port over other ports in the country. “They initially asked us for three shooting days only. We are happy that several scenes in the movie will be shot here,” Catipay said.
He added that “we have different kinds of fish Jeremy and Rachel will surely like, just they are reportedly addicted to our adobo.”
