Fil-Chinese trader killed in rob try
MANILA, Philippines - A Filipino-Chinese businesswoman was killed while her father and brother were injured when they tried to fight off four men riding in tandem on two motorcycles who tried to rob them at gunpoint Wednesday night in Binondo, Manila.
Heidi Hsu, 28, died at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center from a gunshot wound in the right shoulder, while her brother Herbert, 24, is under observation at the same hospital for gunshot wounds in the arm and abdomen. Their father, Tony, 67, was wounded in the left thigh and confined at the Mother and Child Hospital.
Investigations showed the Hsu siblings had closed their store in Divisoria at around 7:30 p.m. and were on their way home on Lavezares street in Binondo when they were blocked by the four armed men, some 15 meters away from their residence.
The suspects announced a heist, but the siblings tried to put up a fight and were shot by one of the suspects. Tony came out of the house when he heard the gunshots and was also shot by one of the suspects.
The suspects then boarded their motorcycles and sped off toward the Delpan area.
