MANILA, Philippines - A 57-year-old trader was shot dead by two men near the railroad tracks in Tondo, Manila Thursday afternoon, police said yesterday.
Witness said they noticed Napoleon Aniceto alight from his black Mazda 3 along Old Antipolo street, talking on his cell phone. Minutes later, they heard gunfire and saw two men hurrying away.
Police said the car keys were missing and the vehicle opened, but could not tell if the gunmen took anything from the car.
Aniceto’s son, Alarcon, told police his father was a businessman who usually carried large amount of money. Police said his relatives could not tell what business the victim ran.
