Man killed over affair with married woman

MANILA, Philippines - A man allegedly having an affair with a married woman was stabbed dead in Quezon City Thursday night, with investigators looking into the possibility that he was killed by his lover’s husband.

Lucenio Sabiano, 33, of Barangay Batasan Hills, died upon arrival at the FEU Hospital at past 11 p.m., Police Officer 3 Loreto Tigno said.

Sabiano’s workers, Vergel Fajarito and Jack Trejan, said they were in their employer’s closed hardware shop when the attack happened. They heard knocks and loud cries for help from outside.

When they opened the door, they saw Sabiano’s bloodied body lying on the ground. They quickly rushed their employer to the hospital.

Tigno said they have yet to get any witness to identify the attacker but Sabiano’s widow, Jolly, claimed their neighbor, Romel Gonzaga, had threatened to kill her husband because he was reportedly having affair with his wife.

Tigno said Gonzaga and his wife could no longer be found at their residence following the killing.
