Body stuffed in garbage bag, dumped on sidewalk

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a man suspected to be a victim of summary execution was found stashed in a garbage bag dumped on a sidewalk in Quezon City yesterday morning.

Superintendent Lino Banaag, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station 1, said the body was discovered by passersby at around 9 a.m. along the sidewalk at the corner of Maria Clara and Dr. Alejos streets in Barangay San Isidro Labrador.

The police official said the unidentified man’s head, wrapped entirely in packing tape, was nearly hacked from his neck. Banaag said the victim was between 35 and 40 years old and bore a dragon tattoo on his left arm.
