DBM releases P128 million for school destroyed in plane crash

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Budget and Management has approved the release of P128 million for the reconstruction of the F. Serrano Elementary School in Parañaque, which was destroyed by a fire that followed a plane crash last Dec. 10. 

Budget Secretary Florencio Abad said this allocation would be released to the Department of Education that will be tasked to rebuild the 80 damaged classrooms in the school.

He said the reconstruction, once completed, should sufficiently accommodate the school’s 2,652 pupils on a single shift.
