MMDA: No parking on Christmas lanes

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) warned yesterday that parking will not be allowed, parking regulation will be implemented on all streets considered Christmas lanes.

“Violators’ vehicles will be towed away by Manila and MMDA operatives and will be impounded at the MMDA Ultra impounding yard in Pasig City,” the agency said.

Christmas lanes are alternate routes motorists can use to avoid heavy traffic along major roads, particularly EDSA.

Several alternate routes have been designated by the MMDA, including the latest additions: Maria Clara, Laong Laan, Piy Margal, A. Maceda, and G. Tuazon streets, all in Sampaloc. To avoid confusion, the MMDA said it will put up signs to inform the public.
