MMDA resumes drive vs buses with canceled franchises

- Mike Frialde -

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) resumed yesterday its operation to apprehend and impound the units of two bus firms that had their franchises cancelled by the Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for joining a transport strike last year.

Last Friday, the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) ordered the LTFRB to implement the order canceling the franchises to operate of 121 buses of the Philippine Corinthian bus firm, owned by singer Claire de la Fuente, and 128 buses of Jell Transport.
