QC wants chicken dressing facilities checked

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City veterinary’s office is calling for the strict monitoring of at least 49 stores that dress chickens even if they are not licensed to do so.

City veterinarian Dr. Ana Maria Cabel said most of these shops can be found in the Kamuning, Commonwealth, Suki and Frisco markets. “The dressing operations have been going on for years, yet, their permits are either for retailer or wholesale stores,” she said.

Cabel recommended that these shops comply with the city’s business requirements or be shut down.
